Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Possessing a likable, arena-rock amalgamation of grunge, alternative and nu-metal, Come C lean, the debut album from Puddle of Mudd, shows a band who are at once emotional and straight-ahead. Indeed, their no-frills line-up puts one in mind of a less uptight Creed. Singer Wesley Reid Scantlin possesses an Eddie Vedder earnestness that on hard-hitting tunes like "Nobody Told Me" takes on a Cobain-like urgency. Ranging from acoustic-based yet lush midtempo rockers such as "Drift and Die" to the gimmicky fun of "She Hates Me" to the edgy Nirvana-esque "Bring Me Down" to the dynamic and direct "Control," the 11-song-strong Come Clean is an assured, accomplished and varied debut likely to resonate with rock fans of many tastes and temperaments. --Katherine Turman

Customer Reviews

It's got emotion, it's got guys playing instruments like..5
..they think they are the best thing since sliced bread- you've gotta love it! On a more serious note.. This album must be my most prized possesion, it's got everything in it: Raw unbridled emotion in 'control', measured emotion in 'p*** it all away' and...errr... other stuff. Okay it is stadium rock, i'll grant you that, it is made to sound big and impressive, but when it all comes together like this you can't help but be impressed! The gentle melodies played out viciously by Scantlin and Phillips complement the vocals perfectly. If you want to hear perfect harmony, you need look no further than this album. Hopefully you'll be blown away and addicted as much as I was.

Come Clean5
Despite the rather strange name, Puddle of mudd are a briliant band. "Come clean" is one of the best debut albums ive heard in a long long time. The opening song "Control" will cetainly wake you up, heavy guitar riffs and manic drum beats continue throught. Other great songs on the album are "Drift & die", "Blurry", "She hates me"....... i could continue on, but i'd end uplisting every track on the album. Not a bad song on the ablbum. Buy it!

Puddle of Mudd don't need Fred Durst - THEY'RE A CLASS ACT!4
A good mid-length album filled with catchy guitars and some rather crazy lyrics from Wes Scantlin. "Out of my Head" is so true to it's name, because after I heard it I couldn't get it out of 'my' head! "Control" is always a good opener and my other highlights are: "Blurry", "Bring me down" and "Basement". "She Hates Me" is just pure genius in the 'lyrics department', cos' it's so funny! The bonus tracks are good as an extra and the video is cool to watch (if you have got a PC!) BUY, BUY, BUY - LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN - ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY
