relax & rest4
A smooth , relaxing ,& laid back sound. Nina Miranda has a vocal style well suited to a smoky ,funky, jazz club. With a strong european accent noted in the vocal selections she wouldnt sound out of place singing for koop , thievery corp , Tosca or collaberating alongside bebel gilberto.
The album comprises of melodic contemporary jazziness, influenced by bossa nova beats fused with electronic knowhow & wizzardry .The lush vocals create great melodies when needed, to assist the other instrumentation in carrying the style so effortlessly. The instrumental tracks are mellow & can be contemplatory & the use of vibraphone, strings, flute, trumpet, acoustic piano & funky percussion are used to good effect and layered to produce an easy listening, summery, enjoyable experience.

Nothing particularly ground breaking but some good tracks that most people into any of the afforementioned artists (& some i've missed) will enjoy.

No less than 5 stars please!5
Magical. Spiritual. Delightful. Beautiful. Or just plain far out? All of that and more but words don`t convey the `cosmic enrergy` encapsulated in this record.
It`s a charming little number and great to meditate to.
I rate it as possibly the finest album I have, alongside Zero 7, Koop, Blue States and all that lot.
This rightly deserves to be in every single persons collection. I would like to see this thing take over the world, i`d definately vote for it!

Like St. Germain, this is easy to put on the CD to set a "mood". The vocals of Nina Miranda (the distinctive voice from Smoke City, "Underwater Love") float above a loose jazz arrangement of vibes, Rhodes, string bass and orchestral percussion.

It won't catch you out, grab hold of you or surprise you - but it's a cosy easy-going CD that's perfect for background.
