cinematic soundscape of chilled out bliss!!5
wow, what an album! a very big improvement from previous album 'realize'.
this album is very chilled out & has an epic film soundtrack type feel to it. the vocals are stunning, and the tabla playing on 'milan' is superb. i only dislike 1 track on the album, but that does not in any way detract from how good it is overall. easily on a par with 'midival times', by midival punditz. an excellent accompaniment to that album.

A gem of a find...5
I have been recently scouring the soundwaves for some more cross-over music with Indian influences and this album does not disappoint!! It was an instant 'hit' from the first listen, none of this 'grow on me' lark. I think it captures beautifully the strings of Sitar and the tabla beats fused with todays electro sounds and beats. There is something quite 'grande' and cinematic about the whole experience but still amazingly mellow to chill in your front room. If you are a fan of Nitin Sawhney (Human & Prophecy albums), Talvin Singh and 'Lounge' with an Eastern flavour do not hesitate to pop this into your collection .... I'm glad I did!!

Refreshing sounds from the other side of the Atlantic5
I have been into contempory "World music" for sometime, especially the more up beat stuff, found on Bar de Lune label or by DJ's such as Pathaan or Claude Challe. Here is some original tracks unmixed by a great producer of music Karsh Kale.
He has already been compared to artists such as Talvin Singh, and his sound is similar, with obvious influences from his Indian heritage. He has teamed up on this album with some other great artists and musicans such as the great dub/bass sound of Bill Laswell, and with the Madras Chamber Orchestra (both of whom have appeared on many Claude Challe mix compilations)
This album is quite diverse in its sound, and may not be what people were expecting, especially if like me, you heard one of the dancier tunes somewhere else. However, I was very pleased with the electic mix of breakbeat sounds, rock/funk, orchestral arrangements, Indian classical etc etc, which although different genres, all have the Indian influences through out, thus making it flow smoothly. This is world fusion at its best.
