NINA BUT DEFINATELY NOT AT HER BEST-DONT BOTHER WITH IT
HAVING HAD A GOOD FEW SIMONE ALBUMS AND HAVING ENJOYED THEM THIS WAS A BIG LET DOWN-HER VOICE IS NOT AT ITS BEST AND THE MATERIAL IS NOT GREAT APART FROM A COUPLE OF GOOD TRACKS-OVERALL A BIG LET DOWN -IF YOU BUY THIS AS YOUR FIRST NINA ALBUM THEN HAVE FAITH THERE ARE SOME FANTASTIC ALBUMS BUT THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM-DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

This Is Not Her Best
Unfortunately this uses too much late material when her voice has deteriorated and also when the recording is actually worse than in the early years. There is much better recorded material out there, even the live albums are better than this. It only gets 2 stars because the first and last tracks are excellent, but the material fillers in between should be considered poor at best. If this was the only album you had by Nina Simone you'd seriously wonder what all the fuss was about.

inspiring
This in my opinion is the best Nina Simone album. It is a great mixture of both old jazz and blues classics and covers of more modern songs. Totally inspiring, I would recomend this to any Simone fan. You will not be dissappointed!
