A new star of Brazil Popular Music
Her mother was (and is) one of the great voices of Brazil (maybe the greatest female vocalist of the last century) and died tragically when Maria Rita was 4. While Maria Rita tries to make her own place in the music scene, saying that her mother's place is not empty, when hearing this CD we have rememberances of Elis (her mother) because the tone of the voice of Maria Rita is very near to her mother's. And if you are fortunate enough to have access to the DVD you will notice that the interpretation, the gestures, the movements, the way Maria Rita fills the stage bring clear memories of her mother. But Maria Rita is a great singer in her own rigth and this first record (number one in Brasil and, now, in Portugal) with near one million copies sold gives us the promise of a great vocalist and performer.

too emotional....
the current number one album in brasil, a singer that was spurred on to sing from the death of her famous vocalist mother...there are plenty of great melodic songs, the vocals are so accomplished and really is associated with my memories of Salvador on my recent trip...i highly recommend it....
