Product Description

Second album from Alaskan metallers, now relocated to Oregon, follows 2002's 'Bitterness The Star' and is a paean to the frozen beauty of their home state. Produced by emo veteranJames Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever) and mixed by Andy Sneap (Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy), the album's hardhitting sound is more consistent and emotional than their debut and looks set to propel them to the frontof the burgeoning "screamo" movement.

Great!!4
A brilliant metal album. Love the drummer, he's got skills! and i love the vocal combination of screeching/ groaning and harmonics, they work really well! Love the whole sound of the band, and i'll certainly be trying to get out to see them in April!
Best track-Kenai

An Amazing Sophomore Hit From The Crazyfists5
The album kicks off amazingly with "At The End of August" as Brock (Lead Singer) demonstrates his incredible screaming voice before smoothly flowing in a catchy melodic chorus. The following songs "The Heart and the Shape" and "Bloodwork" fare just as well, although "Kenai" is lacking some. Not to worry though because "Skin & Atmosphere" makes up for it with its stunning verses and just as good chorus. The interlude "Song for the Fisherman" is rather strange. It is about a minute and a half long of Brock talking with a simple melody played in the background. It seems a bit bland and although bareable, it seems like a bit of filler and the album could do without it. The second half of the album is not quite as good as the first, but "Destroy the Map" is a truely outstanding song with guest vocals by "Raithon Clay" . He and Brock combined make for a truely unstoppable duo.

The only thing that bugs me is that sometimes the band are not sure what genre they are. Most of there songs sound fairly Post Hardcore, but a few, namely "Kenai", "With Nothing Underneath" and "Cure Eclipse" seem to be Metalcore, although good metalcore. Nevertheless this is an amazing album and I can't say that they sound like any other band I know of. Fans of most varietys of metal will enjoy.
