Product Description

'Desensitized' follows on from 2001's 'Sinners' and is their first album with new singer Jason Jones following the death of the band's original frontman David Williams in 2002. The album has a more positive upbeat feel to it than 'Sinners'but sticks to the band's trademark southern nu-metal sound, reminiscent of Pantera, Korn et al. The album contains the single 'Step Up'.

Customer Reviews

Better than Sinner5
The songs on this album are very well written, unlike Sinner, the bands first album. I hated the repetitive choruses. The music overall is heavier too, more 'metal'. There are some shouty vocals at times too, which adds passion, I think.
For those of you who haven't heard Sinner, if you like bands such as Soil and Godsmack as I do, you should go ahead and click 'Add to basket'.

Absolutely excellent album5
If you've read my review of Disturbed/The Sickness then you will know I have narrow tastes which used to be solely Metallica until their St. Anger album showed me the way of heavier metal.

I am not a dedicated Drowning Pool fan and only recently found that the original singer sadly died. I did find the previous singer tended to screech a lot of the time that irritated me somewhat but the new singer doesn't do this and does an excellent job on the vocals.

This album has the variation in sound that keeps you interested. The power of the vocals, the lyrics and the amazing guitar talent really show that this band means business. I have no problem with recommending this album, it's absolutely amazing.

Killin' Me and Step Up are two of my favourites but that is not to do any of the other songs misjustice, I frequently change my mind. It's one of those rare albums that you can listen to on repeat for weeks on end without getting bored....how many albums can you say that about?!

If you like metal then you should buy this, you'll be amazed!

A fantastic comeback.5
Drowning Pool's second album and first with new vocalist Jason 'Gong' Jones. You'd be forgiven for thinking that after the death of former vocalist Dave Williams the rest of the band would have just given up. In fact, unbelievable, they've managed to pull off an album even more aggressive and hard hitting than ever before. It's not hard to understand why, they were never going to be mellow and the tragic loss of their bandmate just incited their rage further.

A lot has been said about Gong on this site, so I shall also contribute. Whilst he is not of the same vintage as Dave Williams, he doesn't claim to be. And he certainly isn't bad. He seems just as affected by everything that's happened as the rest of the band, and has done a tremendous job on this album. He is as worthy a replacement as they could have found and I look forward to his contribution to the band.

If you were a loyal fan of Dave Williams' Drowning Pool, you shouldn't feel bad about listening to this. If you hadn't even heard of Drowning Pool before this album, you'll probably prefer this album to the first. Either way, this album is superb.
