Best of compilation from one of the most controversial figures in rock. It takes in tracks from his debut album 'Portrait Of An American Family' up to the 2003 release 'The GoldenAge Of The Grotesque' (via three other albums). The album displays all aspects of Manson's music - from all out industrial rock through to electronic tinged metal and straight outrock. The album also includes the previously unreleased track/single (the Depeche Mode cover) 'Personal Jesus'.

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Culled from the band's ten year, six album career, Lest we Forget: The Best of Marilyn Manson features some of the greatest rock anthems of the last decade. Opening with "The Love Song" from Holy Wood, it proceeds to the first of a handful of cover songs which have made it as singles. The decadent, beefed up version of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" may not vary much from the original but the band do it the appropriate Goth justice; "Tainted Love" adds a menacing, industrial-glam to the electric northern soul of Soft Cell's version; and the one that broke them into the UK mainstream, "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics sounds as good as ever. So, they do a good cover but it's really the fists in the air crowd-pleasing anthems that back up the band's iconic imagery. The high-energy signature tune, "Beautiful People" and tracks like "Disposable Teens" or "The Fight Song" typify the band's intelligent approach to rock'n'roll posturing. While many may have all the albums already, Lest We Forget is the perfect addition for anyone who likes the odd song but was too fearful to delve any further in the world of Marilyn Manson. --Georgina Collins
Customer Reviews
Very very good
I had never been a fan of Marilyn Manson and have always been dubious of 'greatest hits' albums, but when I bought this album - it changed my perception of both.
Mr Manson's rasping voice goes down extremely well with the heavy rock music. The collection of songs on the album have been well chosen and do just justice to his career to date. I have had this album in my car for the last 3 years and it is not likely to leave there any time soon. This is a definite one to purchase.
A true manson greatest hits
This album is a must for anyone interested in marilyn manson or who enjoyed his recent album but doesn't own any of his other music. This album contains all of manson's best tracks and none of his best songs are missed out. All of these tracks are very strong songs that have came out as singles and have, for a metal act, done reasonably well in the charts. Highlights include Mansons cover version of soft cell's "tainted loved", annie lennox's "Sweet dreams" as well as some of his own hits like "Disposable teens" and the "Dope show". There is not a bad track on this album and is a must for anyone who likes or ever liked Marilyn Manson or who is interested in metal as a whole. If you already like Manson this is his definitive greatest hits and if you are new to him this is the only place to start. For goths, rockers, metalheady or anyone who loves MM. Give it a go and serve loud!
His best all in one!
If you are a Marilyn Manson fan and want most of his best songs in one then this is the one for you.It includes his greatest hits that are listed on the page. Although Antichrist Superstar, coma white, spade and Heart shaped Glasses aren't on there (those are some of my favourites) it includes all his old stuff and some songs I hadn't heard before. Apperantley the DVD is also good but get this. This is a must have.
