Customer Reviews
divine music and divine performance
I have grown up listening to Morricone's music, and I have always found it intensely moving, from the spaghetti western to the maybe less well known - outside Italy anyway - but equally epic scores for "Moses", "Secret of the Sahara" and "Marco Polo". Combine it with Yo-Yo Ma's exquisite cello and you have a recipe for moving me to tears.
Truly divine music from two masters of their art.
A thing of beauty
I was quite ignorant of Ennio Morricones work, Thanks to this album I now appreciate what a great composer he is. Worth buying for the segments from 'The Mission' I always picture Jermy Irons strapped to a cross cascading down a waterfall, there is so much more to admire on this album. Beautiful music, beautifully played.
A Work of Art & Beauty
This is probably one of the best records I've ever heard in my life, Morricone's music blended with YO-YO MA's feeling is something that will always be bigger than your expectations. The compositions in this record can easily be one of the best works from any generation. Morricone man can bring tears into your eyes faster than taking an onion and squeeze it into your eyes... the music has so much passion, silence, melody and rhythm that words can't get anywhere near to what this music will do to you.
