Editorial Reviews
From the Label
Brian May has been diggin’ in the crates once more to compile another outstanding and epic volume of the monsterously successful Air Guitar album series. For Best of Air Guitar, Lord May of Riffsville has pulled out all the stops and leant on a few mates to secure the most heady line up yet.
Things begin with Queen (with Paul Rogers on vocals) and a barnstorming live performance of "Fat Bottomed Girls" and continue with the young pretenders to their metal-mantle, The Darkness and the kick-ass "I Believe In A Thing Called Love". From here on it’s non-stop uber-riff mayhem with all the greatest, noisiest and guitar-iest, laying down some heavy sounds for all your Air Guitar needs.
Customer Reviews
ROOOOOCK!!!
'best air guitar album in the world...ever' is no small claim, but this classic truly delivers. turn your stereo up to 11, lift your imaginary axe and get ready to stage dive off your ikea coffee table.
Now I understand that there are lots of these albums with pretty much the same songs on, but this box set is the definative collection and it spits on the rest from rock heavenly hights
ROCKS!
There is nothing much I can say about this CD other than it ROCKS!! I love it and I haven't stopped playing it since I bought it, I don't need to skip any tracks which is a bonus.
It is an amazing collection of amazing songs that haven't gone out of date. It's great to have such a collection like this together that I can listen to as a whole whenever I want.
If you like the songs then buy it, you will not regret it because this is an amazing album. The best of the best air guitar albums ever.
Hit and miss...
There is an equal measure of classic rock songs that you probably already own, pretty decent rock songs that you wouldn't have gone out of your way to own, and some rubbish that you wouldn't have seen dead playing on this compilation album.
Also, if you are a previous owner of the albums in this series, then this is pretty superfluous, as most of the songs appeared on their previous albums.
Expect the usual Queen, Darkness, Motorhead, to fill up the playlist. Any afficiando of this kind of music will most likely own most of the songs. However, if you are new to this style of rock music, then the CD does give a good overview of the genre.
Still, inclusion of Alien Ant Farm and Beastie Boys, among others, really don't belong in this kind of album.
Still, most of the songs are quite rightly classics, and the CD on the whole is something you just can't but help flinging yourself round your living room, strumming along on your invisible guitar...
