Dancehall party
Soul Jazz records rarely seem to put a foot wrong. This compilation seems to be a progression from their fantastic Xoo% Dynamite series, which brought us a quality sampling of Ska, Soul, funk and Dub from Jamaican archives from the sixties, all the way to current releases. With 100% Dynamite Dancehall, they seem to be applying the same approach to the more raucous world of dancehall... and there are some real fantastic tunes included here.
Highlights? There really is no shortage of quality offerings here, but highlights include:
Lady Saw's three cuts all showcase her powerful vocals, great upbeat party joints. Fat Eyes have a couple of quality grooves, Shinehead puts a whole new slant on Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, and Cecile's irresistably upbeat closer will get even the most seatbound partygoer moving.
So Soul Jazz have done it again... a fantastic collection of Irresistably upbeat tunes, keep 'em coming!
