Customer Reviews
Bill Bailey's B-Boy Brother
Tom Middleton is in many respects a DJ's DJ. His tune selection is nearly always impeccable and his mixing is imaginative, without being ostentatious.
I've recently got my hands on several of his releases and I think that CD1 of The Trip II is my favourite. The mix from Goldfrapp's Hairy Trees into Plump DJ's Morning Sun is amazing and the latter is one of my favourite tunes on the album.
CD 2 is more up-tempo and goes a bit too noodly, coffee table jazz in places for my liking (hence 4 stars). Nonetheless, it's still a great CD to have on in the back ground if you've got company.
I've yet to hear the famed 'Sounds of The Cosmos' Mix, but I ain't paying £35 for it!
Brilliant
If you like interesting electronica and are fed up with endless Ibiza chillout tunes and noodly pretentious meanderings then get this. It is great-interesting tunes and a bit of thought and a general progression. Well worth it!
Never gets tired....
I had no idea how much I would like this album when I first glanced at the tracklist so I kept an open mind and put it on my CD player and sat back with baited breath.......luckily for me it was absolutely fantastic.
Tom Middleton is a modern day genius!
The first CD takes you on a journey of several different sound styles all cleverly mixed and with a few very amusing tracks to keep you smiling and moving, the second CD is more relaxed but not so relaxed that you ever become bored. This album is great in the car, at parties, on the Ipod....you name it this CD will not fail you! More of this please Tom!!
