Bubbling Under...3
Volume 2 is more mellow in style. Less attention grabbing and more mature. Much of it is not as modern / groundbreaking / original as it's predecessor. It veers into classic songwriting structures with a popular / folk twists. Some of these more classic arrangements are very soothing and peaceful songs, and this is isn't really what I was looking for or expecting from this. Mostly it's a pleasant surprise, but it all depends on what kind of music you are into or how open minded you are.

For my interests there were still some nice tracks that made it worth the purchase. "Walking" has a sweet laidback jazzy feel with a steady edgy beat, with excellent female vocals running the chorus. "Flow" has a nice vibe dropping some nice sentiments across a warm bassline and skipping beat. "Forefathers" the ever excellent Marcina Arnold represents with a soulful jazz funk styled composition. "The Day" cleverley interpolates the 'this'll be the day line" from Prince's Dimaonds and Pearls over a headnod beat while the mc expresses some well delivered thoughtful verses.

Overall, most people will enjoy some tracks and disregard others, as I have done, particularly as a few of these tracks don't seem strong enough, languishing in the no man's land between killer and filler. I was left wanting more, mainly because of the bar which was set by volume 1, but there is some good stuff in here for people coming from different music perspectives.
