Chicago's finest returns with his seventh full-length, FINDING FOREVER--a title that, in Common's words, refers to an effort to find that musical place where one can exist forever. Production comes primarily from Kanye West, and, as on BE (Common and Kanye's previous effort together), FINDING FOREVER utilizes samples from such diverse artists as Nina Simone, Bob James, Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott-Heron, Mountain, Dorothy Ashby, and Paul Simon to create a purer, soul-influenced hip-hop sound. Lyrically, Common is in the same place as ever, spreading positivity and spirituality, speaking on relationships and the ghetto struggle, and preaching love as the central message. The artist formerly known as Sense also utilizes topical media references ranging from the astronaut love-triangle incident of '07 to contemporaneous celebrity breakups. Supplemental production work comes courtesy of KarriemRiggins, Will.i.am, Devo Springsteen, and the late, great J. Dilla. Other guests include Lily Allen, Bilal, Dwele, D'Angelo, and DJ Premier (who provides scratches on "The Game").Compelling and entertaining from start to finish, FINDING FOREVER is another triumph for one of the strongest purveyorsof positive hip-hop.

BOBBYJOE you obviously love this album but pleeeeeeeeeeeeease listen carefully before you start miss-quoting verses. Common does not say "like cash is clay" what does that mean??? HE SAYS "LIKE CASSIUS CLAY" THAT'S MOHAMMED ALI'S REAL NAME. You give this album 5 stars, imagine how good it'll be when you know what he's saying. There's a couple other mistakes but..... Anyway, God bless for supporting REAL HIPHOP. Oh and its a good album not as good as "ONE DAY.." and nowhere near "RESURRECTION" PEACE.
Good but not his best
This is another quality album from one of the best MC's in Hip Hop. I still prefer his earlier albums to this ie Resurrection/Like Water for Chocolate as his lyrics were cleverer and the production more subtle but what Commons found is a producer with the reputation and following that allows him to be mainstream yet still credible as an MC. The collaberation with Kanye works brillinatly over this album with catchy basslines and funky beats and Commons voice and lyrics always sound 'real'. With this album and BE I hope it will make more mainstream Hip Hop fans look into his earlier albums and discover that there is alot more to Common than his work with Kanye. Good Album from a true MC.
If there were any justice it would sell 10+ Million!
Just a great listen, incredible production and Common delivers.
I usually pick out songs from Common I didn't use to love his albums but I love this one.
It's very hard to pick out a single outstanding track.
