Amazon.co.uk Review
British hip-hop has never had much of a musical pedigree, held back by an inability to compete with the brutal ghetto tales of from across the Atlantic. Cold Water Music, though, is the work of Aim, aka Mancunian DJ Andy Turner, and he's sidestepped the equation with an effortlessly eclectic album of slick, inventive instrumental hip-hop that guides the genre into uncharted territories. Aim succeeds where other Brit acts like the Herbaliser fail because he's conscious to avoid any hint of cliché. Cold Water Music boasts an eclecticism that's so disorientating that genre flows into genre with barely a hint of abrasion--the edgy inner-city pallor of "True To Hip-Hop", for instance, which smoothly gives way to the pomped-up operatic majesty of "Demonique." It's undoubtedly the collaborations with Aim's label mates that makes the album, though; check the mellow groove of "The Force", featuring Grand Central rappers Q n'C, and you'll agree that even America's big hitters struggle to compare. --Louis Pattison

The album that got me into hiphop
I first heard of Aim through one of his tracks being on Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and I was instantly hooked.
He combines mellow beats, ambient sounds and some awesome MCs to produce truly stunning, intelligent hiphop that will get you nodding along within seconds. If you've ever grooved along to Rjd2, DJ Shadow or Nightmares on Wax then you will enjoy this, if not - where have you been?! Aim produces perfect laid back, summer evening hiphop that never fails to please.
Words can't do justice to how good an album this is, just buy it and find out for yourself! I 100% promise you will not regret it.
Ambient Hip Hop!!!
WOW!!! This CD is superb and I cannot believe that no one has written a review before until now. If any of you music lovers are into ambient electronic music such as Royksopp or Air and you also like cool hip hop beats such as Guru's Jazamatazz then this album is a MUST. It is a fusion of hip hop beats with soulful electronic beats. Trust me, if you like what I have read, buy the CD you will not be disappointed. Love and Peace!!!
amazing
i heard aims track 'good disease' and thought i had to get more of that, so i got the album and listened to it solidly for about a month afterwards, it is unlike anything i have ever heard before. my favourite tracks are 'the force', 'demonique', 'true to hip hop' and 'aint got time to waste'. aim is criminally unknown.
