Customer Reviews
This kettle has everything we were looking for...
Our requirements for a kettle didn't seem too onerous, but it was amazing how hard we had to search to find this one. The features we like: it fills through the spout (so much quicker!); it is on a 360 degree base; steam doesn't escape and it doesn't drip; there is a clear indicator of how full it is; the water illuminates through the window to show it is switched on, but it is not a psychedelic style statement; it is plastic, so doesn't get as hot as metal; there is a whistle, but it can be switched off; it is quiet -it really is - so it is possible to carry on listening to the radio or talking on the phone; it seems to boil quickly; the cord can be rolled away to prevent trailing across the work surface; the design is neat and attractive and the colour looks smart enough without being an onerous cleaning chore. Our last kettle worked hard for 20 years - so far, this one is going strong. We purchased it direct from Morphy Richards.
Great!
Bought this kettle last week and it's great. It's quiet and fast - can't say more than that!
So Far, So Good
We don't seem to have a lot of luck with kettles in our house, but there are four of us and it is rarely off. 18 months is the typical life per kettle. This one is stylish, with one or two novel extras. There is a push button mechanism to open the lid. If anything is going to go wrong I think it will be this and have told everybody to fill it through the spout, which is a generous one and the kettle can easily be filled this way without any trouble.
The kettle has a large clear panel on the side which allows you to see how much water is in the kettle. It is measured in two cup, four cup etc. and is easy to read unlike many. When the kettle is on this window lights up in a handsome psychedelic blue light. Another novelty, but useful as well, is when the kettle has boiled it whistles. I purchased the cream trim one to go with our kitchen.
All in all a handsome kettle that does its job well. Ask me again in 18 months.
