my current number on kitchen gadget (and i have loads!)
i dithered about buying this but when i thought about it, the cost is the same as a couple of takeaways, and this cooker has already paid for itself in that respect. having recently had a baby, a home cooked healthy meal has become a bit of a challenge and our reliance on takeaways and ready meals was getting out of hand. this slow cooker has meant i can put a meal on to cook when i have a spare 10 minutes or so, and then i can concentrate my early evenings on getting our baby to bed. as soon as she is in bed, we can come downstairs to a lovely meal which is ready to go. i am still getting used to it in terms of how much liquid to use, but thats not a major issue. so far i have done a sausage casserole, a couple of chicken casseroles, beef in ale (jamie oliver style), greek style beef, a few gammon joints, salmon in pesto and caribbean chicken with rice and peas is currently bubbling away. i have generally found that browning is not required - the key is to add boiling hot liquid of whatever the recipe requires, and this is enough to get everything cooked through beautifully. as the title suggests, i LOVE kitchen gadgets and am a bit of a sucker for a product which will spend much of its time hidden in the cupboard, but this has been on the counter top since it was purchased (and looks very good as well!) and has been used frequently. highly recommended.

My First Slow Cooker... Im hooked
Never used one before, but great for soups, stews in fact anything. Lovely to get home on a dark autumn evening to a hot home cooked meal. This one is a little on the big side for one person so I usually freeze the leftovers. Easy to use, easy to clean and economical. Get one, you wont be disappointed.
