Editorial Reviews

Leisure Painter magazine, October 2005
This is an impressive book - another bestseller, I'm sure.

Synopsis
David Bellamy has a tremendous following among amateur painters and in this book he shows the reader how to paint his favourite subject - wild landscapes. David Bellamy's previous books have sold extremely well; Watercolour Landscape Course (60,000 copies sold), Developing Your Watercolours (31,000) and Learn to Paint Landscapes in Watercolour (40,000). This new book is both a practical and an inspirational guide to painting mountains, deserts and wilderness. It contains many tips and techniques for artists of all levels, both for the practicalities of painting in the wild but also for all those armchair artists who want to paint wilder landscapes but don't want to trek into the wilds to do it. Having travelled extensively in India, the Himalayas, the Middle East, Africa, the US and Europe, David Bellamy has painted in many remote and beautiful places. In this book he shares some of those extraordinary painting experiences with the reader and also shows them in step-by-step directions how to achieve similar paintings themselves.

Contents include: Materials Painting Pictures Working out of doors The armchair adventurer Walking to paint wild places Expeditions to paint wild scenery Gallery of paintings.

Impressive4
The author is clearly a very talented artist.

There isn't an awful lot of how to do sections - these have been covered by his earlier books - but there are plenty of exercises to give you practice
