Limited value
Good advice on basic set up for fly reels tying some knots and making up a fly leader but some subjects are skipped over. I found it frustrating because many questions remained unanswered. There is nothing on fly casting which is tricky to master, for this I would recommend - Michael Evans - Basic Fly Casting Techniques. I suspect there is no single DVD that covers everything but these two have their uses.

Look elsewhere...
First released under the title 'Liam Dale - Fishing - on the Fly' this dvd has been re released with only a slight change to the intro. And it has to be said that, as with it's predecessor, there are some instructional dvd's from which you will learn something. And then there are those from which you will learn little. And without a doubt this sits within the later of these two categories. Offered only the basic information on how to prepare your reel and line the majority of the dvd meanders through a rather self indulgent monologue which is either too complicated and advance for the beginner or, and I suspect that this is more likely the case, simply irrelevant to anyone likely to buy it. Sadly it has given me neither the confidence nor has it given me the knowledge from which to take my first steps into fly fishing.
