Manufacturer's Description
BRITA Elemaris Cool Chrome water filter jug

Tap water in the UK is perfectly safe. However, it doesn't always taste, look or smell as pleasant as we'd like, and the effect can be noticeable not only in drinking water but in hot drinks and food cooked in water.

BRITA water filter products use a mixture of carbon and ion exchange resin to remove hardness, chlorine, heavy metals such as lead and copper, and other organic impurities to improve the taste, smell and appearance of cold and hot drinks.

The Elemaris Cool chrome water filter jug uses the BRITA Maxtra cartridge for 20% better limescale reduction. With a slim design making it suitable to fit in the fridge door, Elemaris Cool Chrome features 'Memo', the electronic cartridge exchange indicator to remind users when to change the cartridge. It holds 1.4 litres filtered water, or 2.4 litres in total. It is scratch resistant and dishwasher safe (excluding lid.)

Useful and elegant5
This is a very useful product if the water in your house contains all sorts of impurities or is too hard. The water does taste a lot better if you use the filter. It also lengthens your kettles life if you use the water from your filter with it.

Mine is still going strong after two years!5
Great bit of kit. Fits in a fridge and will produce a kettleful of filtered water in a couple of minutes, which can't be bad. I was going to buy a bigger model but am glad I didn't, as the extra water would have been wasted.

One thing is a puzzle though. The counter on the unit which tells you when to replace the filter lasts for four weeks. I have a coffee machine with a built in filter sytem and counter. The counter in the coffee system is about twice as slow as the jug, yet they use the same cartridges!

One of them is lying...

Be warned - it doesn't bounce!5
I bought one of these two years ago and have greatly enjoyed it. The water tastes the same as all Brita filtered water, but the enjoyment comes from having such an elegant thing in my kitchen. Also, its really easy to fill from the tap because of its clever hole - difficult to describe the mechanism, but the hole closes automatically when the jug is full.

Anyway, today I found out that when you drop this elegant jug from the kitchen worktop onto stone tiles, it doesn't bounce, it breaks. I have looked at all the other Brita jugs, some of which are available on Amazon for about half the price of this one, but I'm going to get exactly this same one again - and be more careful with it this time!
