Manufacturer's Description
The BRITA Edition Premium Glass water filter jug also includes 1 Maxtra cartridge. Tap water in the UK is perfectly safe. However, it doesn't always taste, look or smell as pleasant as we'd like, and the effect can be noticeable not only in drinking water but in hot drinks and food cooked in water.

BRITA water filter products use a mixture of carbon and ion exchange resin to remove hardness, chlorine, heavy metals such as lead and copper, and other organic impurities to improve the taste, smell and appearance of cold and hot drinks.

The Edition Premium water filter jug uses the BRITA Maxtra cartridge for 20% better limescale reduction. It features an easy-flip lid for easier filling, and 'Memo', the electronic cartridge exchange indicator to remind users when to change the cartridge.

Nice Jug, but the metal rings supporting the handle rust!2
It's a good jug, and there are many competing filter manufacturers, so you don't have to buy Brita. However, after 4 months usage, the metal rings have rusted on the inside. Therefore though the glass jug you can see the big rust spots, and you can't take them off to clean them. Whilst it doesn't affect the water inside the jug, it's not very nice...

Works well but a bit flimsy and yes the metal rings do rust4
I didn't want a plastic water jug as I don't like the idea of storing water in plastic. The jug functions fine but you have to be very careful as it is rather delicate. I'd imagine one knock and it would break. I've managed to avoid breaking mine so far and have had it about three months. Yes the metal rings do rust but you can take them off by pulling off the outer rim on the handle and then unscrewing the screws with a star driver. They should have made the rings out of stainless steel and made a better quality glass jug - I would have paid more for better quality. The Brita filters are fantastic I must say. The tap water we have here tastes absolutely awful - it's like drinking a cup of chlorine so I doubted that they would work but to my amazement they do. I drink tea without milk and it tastes revolting unless the water is filtered or I use bottled water. Its a shame the water authorities add so many nasty chemicals otherwise our water would taste very nice.

    a great find5
It was hard to find a filter jug not made of plastic. We have had no problems with this jug whatsoever. Drinking anything out of plastic is unhealthy and dangerous...so this fits the bill.
