Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Kenny Chesney titled his 11th studio album JUST WHO I AM: POETS AND PIRATES out of the belief that modern country musicians contain a bit of both, due to their artistic nature andtheir peripheral, "on the road again" lifestyles. The albumfeatures elements of both, combining some of Chesney's sweetest love songs with a handful of rowdy country rockers for balance. One of the latter, "Wild Ride," is a manic party tune featuring the Eagles' Joe Walsh for just the right shade of dissolute atmosphere. The other duet, the twangy working man's anthem "Shiftwork," features George Strait in his comfortable new role as the elder statesman of Nashville's new traditionalists. Between those two songs, highlights include the philosophical "Don't Blink," the rowdy "Got A Little Crazy," and the lovely "Better As A Memory." Chesney is in finevoice throughout, and the song selection is, as always, a top-notch set of Music Row's finest, making JUST WHO I AM: POETS AND PIRATES yet another solid outing by one of Nashville's most dependable hitmakers.

TOP ARTIST4
I first came across Kenny Chesney music, when a friend introduced me to the greatest hits, since then I was hooked. There isnt a single album not worth buying, and i have got them all, this last one called (just who I am)poets and pirates,is with a difference, still sounds great,no much of twang, lots of ballads, but still powerful voice, only kenny Chesney can deliver. You will like this latest album, guaranteed .

Kenny is Kenny--always!4
Kenny Chesney is Kenny Chesney--no matter WHO he is. And basically, no one cares other than he's "entertainer of the year" (again) and that he rocks.

In "Just Who I Am," Kenny maintains that rocking, rolling, and (sometimes) raunchy beat he's captained these past few years. No Chesney CD is a waste and his "faithful" will love this one as well (as one can tell by its sales); however, there's nothing new on this CD. It's Kenny Chesney--exactly as we've seen him on his previous two CDs. Now, that's not necessarily a negative, as he's great as he is, but perhaps something new would enhance this one. Perhaps he's just too busy touring or lounging on those Caribbean beaches he loves so well (where DOES he find the time?) to go that "extra effort," no matter to whom he's paying homage (right)--George Strait, Dwight Yoakam (a stretch here!), etc. He should always remember, though, that you dance with the one you brung.

Still--Kenny rocks. And his music is great.

One of the best5
I started off in country music with Garth Brooks and progressed on, i brought Kenny's Greatest Hits cd after seeing him sing on the 2005 CMA Awards and haven't looked back since. He has some really really great stuff out there, but i really love this album Dont blink being my favorite song on the album. the album is more thoughtful than some of the others, one of the most thought provoking is Dancing for the groceries.
I would say to anyone give the albun a go it is one of my most played cd's since I brought it
. i wait in anticipation of a new album hope its soon!!!
