Synopsis
This engaging guide covers all the how-to's of hunting waterfowl, including more advanced techniques like river hunting, flooded timber shooting, and prairie shooting. As managed areas become a fact of life for waterfowlers, Smith's advice on how to work within these systems is increasingly useful, as is his emphasis on the importance of hunting with dogs to maximise success ratios and minimise the likelihood of cripples.

Shooting ducks and geese
Not a very insightful book and there is very little in the way of information. The book is totally irrelavent to wildfowlers in the UK. The author seems to have no faith in his own abilitites, which is initially funny, but his constant reteric about his lack of success makes you wonder why you bought this book as an instructional text. It gets 1 star because there is a chapter on gundogs, which is excellent despite the exclusion of Cocker Spaniels, clearly his one area of expertise. Go for one of Eric Begbie's books instead.
