Customer Reviews
This book is an excellent gift for a beginner or a child.
I have been feeding the birds in my garden for almost a year now and have joined a couple of bird organisations, so I have already learnt a lot of what the book covers. If you are in the same situation then this book may not be for you. However, if you are a beginner, or have this book in mind for a beginner friend or child, then this book is quite simply the one to get, and at the price you can hardly go wrong. The colour drawings are very life-like and the photographs are beautiful and I can vouch that a lot of the advice given has already worked for me. It is also a wonderful coffee-table conversation piece that draws non-birders in to a subject that, let's face it, isn't exactly cool.
A good guide for beginners
This is an excellent, easy to use guide for beginners of all ages, who enjoy watching birds in their garden and want to know a little more. I bought this copy as a birthday present for an 84 year old to accompany a bird feeding station. There are many more scholarly guides if the bird watching interest grows but this book is great for starters.....have used it with a 7 year old as well. Highly recommended
The Garden Year
Very pleased with this book if you enjoy bird watching it is a great help.
