    Update of printer4
I changed a very good Epson multifunction printer/scanner/copier for this Brother unit because I needed a wireless printer to use on my home network and wireless laptop. Having used Brother printers in our works office and found them to be good and reliable, decided to go for the MFC 490CW. At the price compared with other multifunction units it is a bargain. It has done everything that I have thrown at it so far, so I am very pleased. No multi unit is perfect so I give it 4 stars.

    Good multi function printer4
I'm very happy with this printer. I've used it quite intensively for a couple of weeks and have not had any of the normal irritations such as paper jams etc. However, I've only used it for printing documents, scanning and copying so I don't know what its like as a fax or for photographs. Also, I've used it with a cable, so I can't vouch for its wireless capability. Ink usage seems OK, although I'm no expert. All in all, I've no complaints so would be happy to recommend. Not giving it 5 stars as I haven't tested it wirelessly.

    great printer-great price5
We decided to buy a wireless printer but didn't want to spend too much on one, we went for the multifunction printer and reviewed them all, this one came up as the best for it's price, it is easy to set up, it is easy to use, just follow the instructions on the LCD panel for everything. The one and only problem we had was that it lost connection with the computer at one stage(though that could have been our fault) but the instructions just tell you to re configure it and away it goes again, This is a brilliant all rounder it's what we would call an 'idiot proof' machine
