Does what it says... but not for very long.
There's not much to say about the basic functions of this monitor: it picks up sound and transmits it to the parent unit without much trouble and seems to do so throughout the house and into the garden. I suspect most baby monitors manage to achieve that, though.
It's still proven to be a fairly disappointing purchase, however. Forget the "starry night" light, that's probably little more than a blur to a newborn and doesn't provide enough light (the led on the parent unit recharging gives off more light!). The biggest disappointment, however, is the battery life: we get around 3 hours from it before it starts beeping annoyingly that it's running low. While that may be just enough for one sleep it doesn't have time to recharge for the next one. It's certainly nowhere near the "up to 12 hours" battery life touted by Philips.
