Synopsis
Kum Nye promotes emotional and physical well-being through three strands of discipline: sitting exercises and breathing techniques help us to appreciate feelings of which we are normally unaware, thereby connecting us with the vitality of our energy centres or chakras; self-massage techniques and movement exercises stimulate subtle energies believed to permeate the whole being, integrating our mental and physical selves and promoting greater self-understanding; and, stretching exercises induce a deep sense of relaxation on three levels - the physical, the mental and emotional, and the energetic or spiritual. "Tibetan Relaxation" draws on all three strands to present more than 70 of the Tibetan relaxation exercises - progressing from basic breathing, self-massage and movement techniques in the first half of the book, to a selection of more advanced methods in the second half. Suitable for all ages, these gentle exercises serve to relieve tension, heighten energy levels, improve concentration and enhance sensory awareness.

nice 'n' relaxed
A lovely way to be introduced to the facinating world of Kum Nye. Set out in six chapters that explains everything from the essential core of tibetan buddhist relaxation, breathing, self massage, gentle movement and much more. Beautifully illustrated with full colour photos, this is a must for anyone wishing for a more relaxed and fulfilling way of living. Another good one to look out for is Tibetan Meditation which is by the same author Tarthang Tulku.
