Includes:
* The author who was banned from selling his book in case it caused paper cuts.
* The swings removed from a playground in case children were blinded by the sun while playing on them.
* An international cycle race banned after worries about urinating cyclists.
* The risk assessment needed before a local village hall could sell mince pies.

Customer Reviews

A fantastically funny read5
As a Local Government employee (for my sins!) I have witnessed these crazy Health & Safety regulations first hand and this book sums up the madness very succinctly!

To the person who gave the book one star - they obviously do not have much knowledge of modern life if they think these stories are made up or are urban legends. I know for a fact how nuts these Health & Safety departments can be and I have stories of my own I could easily add to the book.

Credit to the author for compiling such an absorbing and very amusing read. As B.Knox said, I too, shall be buying this book for friends and family for Christmas and heartily recommend others do the same!

Excellent - well worth reading5
I also bought this book after hearing the author on Radio 4's Today programme and what a treat it was!!! I read it all in one go and it is now doing the rounds in my family and friendship circle.

I just hope the author does another book like this as I would buy it immediately. More please!

A word of warning - do not read in public for fear of spontaneous loud laughter and some very funny looks!

Go out and buy it!5
A cracking read! I got this for my birthday from a friend and I am dead pleased I received it. It was an amusing tour de force from beginning to end and has now been snatched up by my colleagues who saw it on my desk. I hope I get to see it again!

I would recommend this to anyone who has a sense of humour and likes a good giggle laughing at the establishment. Double thumbs up!
