Amazon.co.uk Review
That Alice In Chains were, in the early 1990s, routinely bracketed alongside Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden as exemplars of grunge was always more to do with geography than reality. If Alice In Chains had not formed, like all the aforementioned, in Seattle, it is unlikely anyone would have drawn the comparisons. Where Nirvana and those who followed them approached metal through the filters of the British punk of The Clash and the traditional American songwriterly virtues of The Replacements, Alice In Chains were a heavy metal band, pure and simple.

Like most successful heavy metal bands, Alice In Chains attracted an unusually devoted fan-base, who will be well rewarded by this generous 94-minute compilation. Music Bank contains all Alice In Chains' videos, plus the kind of curios that suggest that someone, somewhere, has put some thought into this. The clips are broken up with grabs of on-the-road footage shot by the band themselves, and the programme begins with a local television documentary made about the band before they'd signed their record deal: the scenes shot in the kitchen of the house the band were sharing at this point are probably best avoided by the faint-hearted.

On the DVD: the DVD has two audio options: PCM stereo and surround sound. There are interactive menus with which to select individual clips, and a nicely designed but basically redundant video discography. --Andrew Mueller

WOW5
I have been an Alice in Chains fan for years but only just got around to buying this DVD. I absolutely love it. I've never had MTV so even though I've seen most of the videos before at friends houses etc it's brilliant to have them at my disposal to watch whenever I feel the need! Even if you do have MTV there is a video for 'Get born again' the last song they put out before Layne died and loads of home-video type footage of the band over the years in between each of the vids. If you're a fan of the band the extra footage makes the DVD well worth buying.

In addition to that there is a 10 minute 'documentary' made about the band just prior to them signing their record deal which shows them living together in a grubby, student-type house and talking about why they deserve a deal and how much the band and music in general means to them. This is worth the DVD price even if only to see Jerry's glam rock hair!

If you are looking for a visual and musical introduction to Alice in Chains and you don't know a lot about the band this is also an excellent DVD to buy. The videos span their career from their first album through their catalogue including their MTV unplugged performance and the last video they made as a band. You couldn't really get a better introduction to the music and attitude of AIC than this.

I honestly can't say enough good things about 'Music Bank- The videos'. Just buy it!!

basically all of the alice videos with some funny footage!5
I think this DVD is really, really amazing. All of the AIC videos are just so good and the footage inbetween the clips is astoundingly funny. This contains some of my favourite videos including Would?, I Stay Away, Angry chai and much much more. I would recommend this to any alice fan, seriously. The video footage shows the band in a different light, not just depressed all of the time, in fact usually funny and uplifting. And its just so good, it deserves 6 stars. Get this and unplugged, if you like music.

Impressive5
If you are a fan of heavy rock or metal, this superb DVD featuring the videos of Alice in Chains is a 'must have' purchase. Not only is the music of outstanding quality (in fact Alice havn't made a bad track in their entire catalogue) the actual videos are really well put together. Especially good are Would?, Them Bones, Angry Chair, and Get Born again. This disc features 17 videos (including one from the MTV Unplugged), 1 short documentary of the band at the begining of their career, and funny home video clips of the boys generally messing about and having fun. Great to see live footage of the band on stage-I just hope there is enough footage out there for a new live concert DVD. The disc has a running time of 94 minutes and I think is outstanding value for money.
