CD Description
A failed professional footballer with Brentford, Rod Stewart began his singing career with folk singer Wizz Jones busking around Europe (he was deported from Spain for vagrancy!). Upon returning to the UK he linked up with The Five Dimensions and later the Hoochie Coochie Men, which subsequently evolved into Steampacket. This grounding has enabled Rod to develop a distinctive style for his own solo career, a style that mixes folk, rock, country, soul and blues in almost equal measure and has enabled him to enjoy almost 35 years of success around the globe. This album features many fine examples of Rod s diverse influences, from the Motown tracks 'Can I Get A Witness' and 'Baby Take Me' to the blues influenced 'Keep Your Hands Off Her' and 'Mopper s Blues'. It s a potent mix.

Im not a music critic and this is my first review of any cd's that I have ever bought so Id like to keep it simple.
I bought this and can't stop playing it.Great 60s mix of pop ,RnB and still retains that classic 60s sound we all love.
Full on from start to finish with Rods distinctive voice belting away.
Far better than some other 60's records which lose their feel when transfered on to cd. Well worth the money It's a bargain .
The standout tracks for me are,*Why does it go wrong *,*The day will come* and Mike D'abos, *A little misunderstood*.Thats only me but Im sure everybody will find their own personal favourites. Even For those three tracks I still say its a bargain I would happily have paid more for those tracks alone.
Thank you

great lyrics,singing and backing music
15 recordings made by Rod Stewart from 1964 onwards.Fast-paced songs with drums, electric guitars and some brass instruments in the background,Rod singing many of the songs in a style that is a mix of sounds from the forty's or fifty's given a 1960s rock and roll flavour. No beautiful softly sung ballads like I am Sailing (from the early 1970s) - lots of aggressive guttural sound from the back of the throat and some great lyrics too.An old-fashioned recording but I bet young people nowadays will love it as well as older folks. And at these prices, going quite literally, for a song.
