A Class Act
From time to time, surfing reviews in the "You might also like.." section in Amazon, I take a calculated risk and buy something from a band I know nothing about, and have heard none of their material yet. This was the case with House of Lords and this album, World Upside Down. I scored a real bullseye this time.

What a bloody good album! Great songs from start to finish, great musicianship, cracking vocals & a really solid production mean this spends lots of time in the car's 6CD changer.

What are they like? Well, a couple of the songs sound like a more melodic version of Metallica. Others remind me of the craftmanship on MSG's second album. If you enjoy those groups, plus bands like Boston & Journey, (although House of Lords' music style is heavier and a little less complex than these two), you'll enjoy this. Its just damn good hard rock with a strong melodic touch. Enjoy.

Great melodic rock with a heavy edge
Had never heard of HoL until looking at the Dean guitar website. Jimi Bell is a user of Dean guitars and there was an audio clip of "Rock Bottom" After listening to this I thought this band needs checking out. I logged onto the usual music sharing sites to try and get some more tracks by them. After downloading a fair bit of stuff from various albums I was hooked. So straight away purchased two cd's this one "World upside Down" and "House of Lords". If your a lover of good melodic rock with a metal edge to it, this cd must be part of your collection. Almost all of the songs are first class although suprisingly the title track at No13 is probably the worst track on the album. Still, with that said this album is great so buy it now, you won't be dissappointed. Greg Giuffras Excellent Album Record Continues !
For those of us of a certain age the name Greg Giuffra conjures up memories of his early days as the Keyboard wizard with Angel. This is his latest band HoL apparently this album has been long in the making but its well worth waiting for. The guitar sounds here are big, harsh & brash Great !! that's how we like `em !! The balance between the keyboards & guitars is spot on. The lead vocals are really well delivered here as is the guitar playing but what makes this one of the best albums of the year 2006 is the songs. There`s 13 songs here & to be honest 9 of `em are killers ! ones a musical intro to the album so doesn`t really count & 3 are good !This is certainly one of the highlights of the AOR calendar this year & for my money is vying for AOR album of the year. If you liked Slamer Nowhere Land, Or JLT Sunstorm then buy this as its better than both of those albums. Highly Recommended
