Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Eighth album, the first since 2001's 'Beyond Good And Evil'and singer Ian Astbury's subsequent sojourn in the reformedDoors, from cult British group probably best remembered fortheir massive hit 'She Sells Sanctuary'. The Cult were one of the first bands to fuse heavy metal with goth rock and this album, their first for Roadrunner, continues the tradition with big melodies, bombastic vocals and fat chunky riffs. Was produced by Youth (Crowded House, James, The Verve) and includes the single 'Dirty Little Rockstar'.

Customer Reviews

I should have known they wouldn't let me down...5
I'm so pleased that this is a KILLER Cult album! So many of my favourite bands have released disappointing albums of late but not these guys. This is pure Cult - an album of quality songs, great vocals, rockin' riffs and searing leads. There is a bit of everything on here but I'd say in terms of overall sound the album tips its hat towards "The Cult" and "Beyond Good & Evil" with even a bit of bastardised "Love" thrown in for good measure. It's a truly great album and I must admit that I expected a lemon at this stage of their careers. Bravo Ian, bravo Billy!

return of the cult4
8th studio album from uk band The Cult,every Cult album has been vastly different from its predecessor...this is no exception,The Cult do not follow trends or fads they make music that they like,i can hear bits of every Cult album in this record,"citizens" harks back to love,the single "dirty little rock star,fuses early cult with later cult," I assassin" is my favourite track,The albums ballad "holy mountain" see's ian go very deep almost like johnny cash,no big production here,"tigers in the sun" ridicules the recent war,The Cult do what they do...nobody will change them,if you like The Cult there is something in this for you.

A Great Welcome Back to the Cult4
I'm so pleased these guys have brought some new material out and are still going - I'm loving the new album so far - its so very The Cult but also very different too. The single Dirty Little Rockstar is really catchy - my fave tracks are no 8 & 9! Buy it - it's great!!! xxx
