Synopsis
Recorded on December 13th 2002 in New York City, this live performance by Dio sees them working their way through a host of hits from their back catalog, fronted as ever by the irrepressible Ronnie James Dio. Tracks include "Holy Diver," "Killing the Dragon," "Stand Up and Shout," "We Rock," and many more.

Heavy metal at it's best
I haven't seen many rock DVD's, but you gotta love this DVD.
I have been a dio fan for a few years now and I listen to everything from elf to dio. The tracks of the DVD include some of the rainbow, sabbath (dio) classics and of course the greats of dio (the band): last in line

It has been a SIN for dio to take 16 years to bring out anouther Dio video, but now that he has he has done it with class. 61 years of age and still going with that in tune incredable voice. The new guitarist, Doug Aldrich is amazing. He incredibly booms out a guitar solo and it knocks your socks off!!

This is a MUST for all RJD fans and heavy metal fans.

A terrific concert, but not very good video quality
I saw Dio in conert in Milan, and it has been fantasctic. Perfect sound, Dio's voice at his best, the band was incredible... And this DVD can give the same power that the band gives in a live show, because sounds great, and just for that it should be bought by every Metalhead in the world.
But there's a "But"... The Video quality is VHS-like, with a bit of misty-effect (just in the black-areas of the stage, and only during the conert, not the specials)and there is a disturbing delay effect (that NOT disturbs the appreciability of the concert at all, but you can notice it)when the scene pass from color to black and white, w/ a brown filter.
Said this, I still give a 4 (actually a 4,5) because it'a terrifc show, and if you are a Dio fan, as I am (meaning that I have all Dio's records from Elf to now), you MUST HAVE THIS DVD.
A last thing for all the guitarists out there... You could think that the actuall Dio's guitarist is not as good as Viv' was. Well, guys, I am a guitar player too, and Doug have done a great work in this tour, because he studied the original solos of the songs, and than he played it live as Viv or Craig did, but with his personal touch. Then every second of the guitar solo is to be learnt... making exeption when he tries to crush his guitar. When he tried to do it in Italy, the crowd begged him not to do it, and he was a bit puzzled by that :-)... I think that there were a lot of guitarists there that night!! ;-)

He Rocks!
Finally, a rock DVD that makes me want to Stand up and Shout!
All I can say is for a man going on 60, Dio really does perform to the limit throughout, proving to us why he's one of the kings of rock and roll.
Killing the Dragon is a mind-blowing set opener, and the gems keep on coming, from a vast range of Ronnie's back catalogue.
Also brilliant is his new line-up, always been a fan of Doug Aldrich and good to see Bain back in with his former bandmate.
Simon Wright keeps us all entertained with a 5* drum solo that for once i didn't want to skip through too!
I would give this 6 stars out of 5, but i felt the interview and extras were a bit sparse. The music makes up for that though!
Buy it now, and find out how rock music was meant to sound!
