Average customer review:Product Description
This budget-priced twofer features a pair of late-period Dio albums, 2000's MAGICA and 2002's KILLING THE DRAGON. MAGICA was the first new album in four years from the golden-throated Ronnie James Dio. The work was also his first concept album, and the metal maestro delivers a powerful and stimulating work that recalls his Rainbow and early Dio years. DRAGON finds Dio penning allegories firmly rooted in the 21st century, with the galloping title track taking aim at the Internet's grip on society, and "Rock & Roll" addressing the knee-jerk self-censorship some radio stations indulged in immediately following 9/11's tragic events.

Customer Reviews
good rock never dies
Outstanding in my opinion, Magica appeals in all areas for me. I do like
concept albums/cds.
Killing the Dragon is Dio at his best, outstanding vocals as with all
of Dio's albums.
It's Dio. Of course it's wicked.
Dio is fastly becoming one of my favourite vocalists and frontman. I'm 17 and I've only just got into his stuff about a couple off years ago from buying his awesome debut solo album Holy Diver, and this aint far from that classic. These masterpieces are amazing, filled with great metal riffs, wicked solos, great lyrics and obviously Ronnies God like vocals. I admit the album Magica did take a couple of listens to fully get into it and i now thankfully i love it. Magica is dio first concept album and it is indeed a brilliant one, with some amazing songs including Lord Of the Last Day, Turn To Stone (the short solo at the is breathtaking), Ebeil & LosinG My Insanity, this album is a tiny bit let down by the last track Magica which is an 18 minutes long storytelling by dio himself to be honest it does get boring but thats a small minor. Next is Killing The Dragon a wicked heavy metal album from the first minute of the first song Killing The Dragon you know it's gonna be a kick ass heavy metal album and dio delivers just that. The best songs here are Killing The Dragon, Along Came The Spider, Better In The Dark, Push (probably the best on the album) & Guilty. Both of these album are just good old heavy metal by Dio the guitarists are awesome in the albums. So if you're a dio fan and wondering about this album buy it it wont dissapoint you. if you're new to dios career then buy Holy Diver i'm sure by now you heard many great things about it, and yes they are all true. I should mention the liner notes aswell they arnt the originals and have no lyrics but dont be put off by this because it's worth the money for the albums. In my opinion Dios solo career kicks ozzys solo careers arse(he did do some awesome album though to be fair). So overall 2 awesome albums from dio at an excellent price what can any dio ask for?. HAIL DIO!!!!
THE RONNIE STRIKES AGAIN
AWESOME!!! MAGICA(by Dio), Crimson Idol (by Lawless), and The Elder (by Simmons/Stanley) are three of the greatest conceptual albums of all the times. His voice says it ALL. And on the other side, Killing the dragon is one of the best machines that dio releases lately (Doug Aldrich...a wizard). Buy it, and have a great time...I do assure you, you shall not regret it!!
