Suikerspin - Sweet!
Melys (the name means sweet...in the sense of tasting sweet as opposed to cute) are a much overlooked band. Imagine if you will Cerys Matthews meets Kate Bush minus Cerys's hoarseness and taken down an octave. This is what Andrea Parker's voice sounds like on the Suikerspin album. The songs are melodic and memorable, while the lyrics (some in Welsh and some in English) are poetic and meaningful. The more you listen to this album the more you enjoy it.
