Editorial Reviews
CD Description
Having previously made a name for himself as the seedier half of Scottish indie legends Arab Strap, Aidan John Moffat here finds himself in distinctly more lewd territory than thealready unabashed work of his previous band. 'I Can Hear Your Heart' is a collection of poems and short stories read over a variety of music and atmospheric sounds, at turns humorous, heartbreaking and always explicit. A light narrative runs throughout, with an enclosed short story in the sleeve (charmingly entitled 'Poop') setting the scene. In amongst thespoken words, Moffat even finds time to include an accordion-led cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'Hungry Heart'.

Best album of the year
It's a masterpiece: funny, sad, scary, always spot-on in terms of observation. The music is beautiful. The voice, grizzled and brilliantly listenable, is also a thing of strange beauty. If you like good lyrics and soundtrack-y music, you will love this.
A Falkirkian Byron
I cannot agree with the other review of Aidan Moffats Spoken Word masterpiece. This beautifully packaged item had me gripped from start to finish....sordid tales of regretful couplings (and indeed treblings) and misspent partying over slightly askew sampled musical minatures. Less like Arab Strap and more Lucky Pierre with added lyrical wit. Aidan must have had a very complicated but varied life to allow him to be so candid.
Highly Recommended...but you might what to take a shower afterwards!
Not Great
The first thing you notice about this CD is the cool packaging and good art work, but I am affraid it's all down hill after that. This is a collection of seedy poems with atmospheric sounds in the back ground, at times it's quite humorous, but without Malcolm Middleton's guitar work its just pretentious nonsense.
