Does Masaaki Hatsumi know what goes on in the UK?
Masaaki Hatsumi is a very unique and brilliant martial artist. What a shame that this DVD claims to be inspired by his art and training. The 'artists' seen to be training in this DVD are very weak in technique, confidence and balance. As a martial artist of over 20 years experience in both modern and traditional budo I would question the DVD's content and merit regardless of the 'beginners' level of the DVD.

The level of detail is extremely limited, including the scope of techniques covered and an absence of how or why you would use them. The setting of a windy field for an instructional DVD just adds to presenter's lack of clarity and an amateurish result. Buyer beware.

Great entertainment but not very authentic!
I have to say, i really enjoyed watching this DVD. Although for all the wrong reasons. There is doubtless elements of the fundementals of ninjutsu there. However in my view, the standard of the DVD content is highly questionable.Saying that, i really did enjoy watching it for its comedy value. Some of the things the instructor comes out with are classics. I also love to watch his exploits on you tube as well. They are well worth a look. I would recomend this DVD as an introductory Dvd into the art of Ninjutsu. If you are new to the art then you may learn something from it. However the caveat being, don't get hung up on the authenticity of all that is said. If you are after something more serious, there are better ways to spend your pennys.

Excelent DVD
I obtained this direct from the original production company at £24.99. I wish Id known it was going to be available on Amazon!!!!

I found this really useful as it presents all the techniques demonstrated by the instructor and then with the students practising them.

You can see the instructor correcting the students where they need to be improved, which i find quite unusual, but very helpful. I wish more instructional DVD's did the same. That is why we all buy them, isnt it?
