Prepare to enter a whole new dimension with Super Paper Mario on Wii! The planet's favourite plumber returns in the third Paper Mario game, bringing a different perspective to the series as he calls on old friends - and foes - to help him tackle a mysterious enemy from a bizarre parallel universe. Lead Mario in his quest to overthrow the evil Count Bleck before he succeeds in creating a Chaos Heart and bringing about the end of the world as we know it, playing as Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser along the way as you free them from captivity. With the Wii Remote held sideways like the traditional NES controller, Mario's quest starts off as a classic platform adventure - but appearances can be deceiving! With a press of the A Button, your perspective on the world changes from 2D to 3D, and the seemingly flat worlds gain hidden depth, with plenty of secrets to be discovered. An involving mixture of RPG and platform elements, Super Paper Mario offers a huge adventure spread over eight eye-catching environments with something new to discover around every corner. Enlist the aid of Pixl sidekicks along your path to gain special skills. By pointing the Wii Remote at the screen for example, you can get secret information and reveal hidden objects along the way!

Manufacturer's Description
Mario and Luigi are enjoying a lazy afternoon at their house when they hear the terrible news: Princess Peach has been kidnapped! The two brothers head straight for Bowser's castle to get her back, but Bowser is just as surprised about Peach's kidnapping as they are. At that moment, a strange top-hatted villain warps in and abducts everyone but Mario. The mysterious villain then forces Peach and Bowser to get married, creating a rift of dark energy that threatens to tear the universe apart! Only Mario can save the day...but he can't do it alone.
What at first glance appears to be your classic 2-D adventure ripped straight from the stylized pages of the Paper Mario universe, soon turns into an hysterical 3-D action game possible only on Wii!
Early on, the 2-D side-scrolling game play appears to be reminiscent of New Super Mario Bros. But as soon as Mario learns the ability to flip between dimensions, players will be constantly flipping between 2-D and 3-D to pass perilous pits, find hidden coins and passages, and talk to characters who are visible only in 3-D.

Rather good
I do enjoy a good Mario romp and this... slightly dissapointed me.
It was, with a little patience, quite engaging. My favourite part is the switching to 3d capabilities, it literally adds a whole new fun dimension. I also enjoyed the cute style and the in jokes. But why just a 3? Well it has no replay value whatsoever. Some parts felt like the creators had padded it out to make the game longer, using boring and pointless methods. It was a nice little jaunt while it lasted but I quickly sold it after completion. All is not lost however. Im not here to say 'don't buy it' as I feel I wasn't the target audience. I think that maybe 8 to 14 year olds would take full advantage of this game and enjoy it to boot.
Fun and irritating in equal amounts.
Other reviewers have explained how the game works so I won't go in to that. This is a fun game, but I found that the levels became repetitive after around level 4 and the cut scenes are far too intrusive in the game and slow it down. You find yourself button pressing just to skip these bits.
Some have said it is too easy, but I think if you are only a casual game player like me then you will find it tricky enough.
A decent Mario game then but not the best.
