Making Mum and Dad's life easier than ever
Feeding a baby may be one of the most meaningful things you do as a parent. Not only does a child bond with those who provide nutritious food, a firm foundation is built for a lifetime of good eating choices. Good hygiene is most important in the care of babies. For the ultimate in protection, all Philips AVENT sterilisers use the intensive heat of the steam to eliminate harmful bacteria. It's the safest, fastest, easiest way to guarantee the destruction of all household germs.

EXPRESS II Microwave Steam Steriliser
The new EXPRESS II Microwave Steam Steriliser now has an even larger capacity of 6 Philips AVENT Bottles so that parents can sterilise a whole day's feed in one go. It gives you the same benefits of steam sterilisation using the power of your microwave.

  • Just add 200ml of water, and heat in the microwave to sterilise the contents in only 2 min at 1100-1850W, 4 min at 850-1000W, 6 min at 500-850W.
  • The specially designed rack makes it easy to place your items inside and can hold up to six 9oz/260ml Bottles or two 9oz/260ml Bottles and two ISIS Breast Pumps.
  • Contents remain sterile for up to 24 hours providing the lid is not removed.
  • This ensures you're ready to feed your baby whatever time of the day or night.
  • The lid is safely secured with two lockable clips. Cooler-touch safety grips on both sides of the steriliser ensure easy handling.
  • The unit fits in most microwaves as it is only 28 cm wide and 16.6 cm high.
  • Its compact design also makes the steriliser ideal for travel.
  • Cleaning is easy too as the unit is dishwasher safe.
Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle
Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle
Many mothers introduce some bottle feeding into their babies' lives. Some may wish to express their own breast milk to allow someone else to give baby a feed; some may be advised by their health visitor or paediatrician to give supplementary bottle feeds and some mothers may choose not to breastfeed.

The Airflex Feeding Bottle has a built-in Airflex valve that works with your baby's natural feeding rhythm to promote healthy, active feeding. Learn how Airflex works.

Milk, not air, flows into your baby's tummy
Philips AVENT natural feeding bottles and teats utilize Airflex technology, which works with baby's natural feeding rhythm to promote healthy, active feeding and reduce colic. The built-in Airflex valve allows your baby to control milk flow more like breastfeeding, which can help reduce overeating and spit-up.

How it works
As your baby feeds, the unique skirt on the AVENT teat flexes to allow air into the bottle, preventing any vacuum build-up. This allows your baby to suckle continuously and effortlessly, almost as at the breast. Listen for the gentle whistling sound and watch the air bubbles burst on the surface of the milk. That’s your guarantee that the air is being released into the bottle – not into your baby’s tummy.

Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle

Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle Philips AVENT bottle reduce baby wind or colic
Feeding bottles, whether they are angled or straight, need air inside the bottle to replace the milk your baby takes. When your baby drinks, a vacuum is formed in the bottle causing the teat to collapse, restricting milk flow. Unable to receive milk, a frustrated baby's natural reaction is to suck more vigorously which in turn increases the amount of air swallowed. Most bottles need air to flow in through the hole in the tip of the teat to remove the vacuum, interrupting the flow and rhythm of sucking.

Philips AVENT teat's unique one-way air valve opens and closes with baby's natural suckling rhythm, letting air flow into the bottle as your baby drinks, preventing the vacuum from forming. The result is less air in the tummy and a decrease in colic. A recent clinical study demonstrated that at two weeks of age, babies fed with the Philips AVENT bottle showed a trend to less colic, and had a behaviour closer to breastfed babies.

Benefits of Philips AVENT Feeding Bottle
  • Philips AVENT Airflex Teats are made from soft pure medical grade silicone and shaped to mimic the breast in form and function.
  • Breast fed babies will accept the AVENT Airflex Teat more easily and will happily go back to the breast, so combining breast and bottle feeding is easier with AVENT.
  • The Philips AVENT bottle with its award winning wide-neck design, is stable and easier to hold, making filling and cleaning easy.
  • Clear markings on the bottle ensure accurate measurement.
Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle

Choosing the right teat for your baby
Remember that age indications are approximate as babies develop at different rates. You will know when your baby is ready to move onto a faster flow rate because he or she will try to suck harder to get the milk more quickly. They may also show signs of tiredness or frustration during feeding.

Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle Color coded packs help you to find the correct flow rate teat for your baby.

Newborn Flow
Extra Soft Silicone Teat Ideal for newborn and breastfed babies of all ages

Slow Flow
Extra Soft Silicone Teat Ideal for newborn and breastfed babies of all ages

Medium Flow
Soft Silicone Teat Ideal for bottlefed babies at 3 months of age and up

Fast Flow
Soft Silicone Teat Offers a faster flow for older babies

Variable Flow
Soft Silicone Teat- Slot Cut Provides an extra fast flow and accomodates thicker liquids. Flow rate can be varied by turning the bottle to align the I, II, or III markings on the teat with the baby’s nose.

Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle

Easy to combine breast and bottle
The naturally shaped teat, combined with the fact that your baby controls milk flow more like breastfeeding, makes it easier to combine breast and bottle.

Simple hygienic assembly
Because the Airflex valve is built into the teat, there are less parts for you to assemble and clean, making the AVENT Airflex Feeding Bottle ultra-hygienic and simple to use.

Customer Reviews

Quick, Easy and travels well4
My husband bought this when our little girl was born 5 months ago, I was a little skeptical at the time when he bought it, as I always think that the more expensive an item is , the better they are!! , but I have to say in my opinion it beats the more expensive electrical ones.
I use it to sterilise everything, we even took it on holiday with us and the hotel very kindly lets us use their microwave.
I store it in my microwave so it takes up less cupboard/worktop space and is easily washed in the dishwasher.
You put 200ml of water in the bottom of the steriliser, 4 minutes in the microwave and its done!
I would recommend it to anyone.

Easy to use and store sterliser4
Our first sterilser was an electric steam version which took up a lot of space in a very small kitchen and required quite vigourous cleaning, so this product was a vast improvement. Much more compact but still with the capacity to sterilse 6 bottles at a time, it only took 5 minutes in the microwave and we were ready to fill the bottles with cooled boiled water (as opposed to when I first sterilsed bottles 5 years ago, it is no longer advised that you make all the bottles in advance to store in the fridge.) You always feel that it is a bonus when you are provided with 'free gifts', but I am not sure if the inclusion of a dummy here will be to everybody's taste. However, Avent is a trustworthy, popular brand and many parents might use the bottles provided here as the start of their collection. I can also see this as being a good, portable product that can be taken away on holiday (we had to use Milton tablets and tupperware on previous trips, whereas this is much easier to put into a bag or suitcase). I liked this product because of its size, ease of use and its very accesible price.

Makes life easier5
Its simple to use, wash the bottles and teats etc, stick them in the tray in the designated positions, fill with 200ml of water and nuke for 6 mins.
Quick, easy and does the job. ANYTHING that makes life easier during those first few months are worth more than there weight in gold, this is one such product. Thoroughly recommended!
