![]() | Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottle Many mothers introduce some bottle feeding into their babies' lives. Some may wish to express their own breast milk to allow someone else to give baby a feed; some may be advised by their health visitor or paediatrician to give supplementary bottle feeds and some mothers may choose not to breastfeed. The Airflex Feeding Bottle has a built-in Airflex valve that works with your baby's natural feeding rhythm to promote healthy, active feeding. Learn how Airflex works. |
| Milk, not air, flows into your baby's tummy Philips AVENT natural feeding bottles and teats utilize Airflex technology, which works with baby's natural feeding rhythm to promote healthy, active feeding and reduce colic. The built-in Airflex valve allows your baby to control milk flow more like breastfeeding, which can help reduce overeating and spit-up. How it works | ![]() |
![]() | Philips AVENT bottle reduce baby wind or colic Feeding bottles, whether they are angled or straight, need air inside the bottle to replace the milk your baby takes. When your baby drinks, a vacuum is formed in the bottle causing the teat to collapse, restricting milk flow. Unable to receive milk, a frustrated baby's natural reaction is to suck more vigorously which in turn increases the amount of air swallowed. Most bottles need air to flow in through the hole in the tip of the teat to remove the vacuum, interrupting the flow and rhythm of sucking. Philips AVENT teat's unique one-way air valve opens and closes with baby's natural suckling rhythm, letting air flow into the bottle as your baby drinks, preventing the vacuum from forming. The result is less air in the tummy and a decrease in colic. A recent clinical study demonstrated that at two weeks of age, babies fed with the Philips AVENT bottle showed a trend to less colic, and had a behaviour closer to breastfed babies. |

| Choosing the right teat for your baby Remember that age indications are approximate as babies develop at different rates. You will know when your baby is ready to move onto a faster flow rate because he or she will try to suck harder to get the milk more quickly. They may also show signs of tiredness or frustration during feeding. |

Customer Reviews
Quick, Easy and travels well
My husband bought this when our little girl was born 5 months ago, I was a little skeptical at the time when he bought it, as I always think that the more expensive an item is , the better they are!! , but I have to say in my opinion it beats the more expensive electrical ones.
I use it to sterilise everything, we even took it on holiday with us and the hotel very kindly lets us use their microwave.
I store it in my microwave so it takes up less cupboard/worktop space and is easily washed in the dishwasher.
You put 200ml of water in the bottom of the steriliser, 4 minutes in the microwave and its done!
I would recommend it to anyone.
Easy to use and store sterliser
Our first sterilser was an electric steam version which took up a lot of space in a very small kitchen and required quite vigourous cleaning, so this product was a vast improvement. Much more compact but still with the capacity to sterilse 6 bottles at a time, it only took 5 minutes in the microwave and we were ready to fill the bottles with cooled boiled water (as opposed to when I first sterilsed bottles 5 years ago, it is no longer advised that you make all the bottles in advance to store in the fridge.) You always feel that it is a bonus when you are provided with 'free gifts', but I am not sure if the inclusion of a dummy here will be to everybody's taste. However, Avent is a trustworthy, popular brand and many parents might use the bottles provided here as the start of their collection. I can also see this as being a good, portable product that can be taken away on holiday (we had to use Milton tablets and tupperware on previous trips, whereas this is much easier to put into a bag or suitcase). I liked this product because of its size, ease of use and its very accesible price.
Makes life easier
Its simple to use, wash the bottles and teats etc, stick them in the tray in the designated positions, fill with 200ml of water and nuke for 6 mins.
Quick, easy and does the job. ANYTHING that makes life easier during those first few months are worth more than there weight in gold, this is one such product. Thoroughly recommended!
