Customer Reviews
Exactly what I wanted.
The make may not mean much - TEINURO but I bought this on the off-chance and am very pleased with it so far.
With the main rooms already set up with satellite TV or Freeview there was just 1 room with an old analogue TV/VHS combo and a DVD connected via a SCART lead. I wanted a replacement but I wanted a built in DVD, freeview AND multi-region as I have started to collect Region 1 discs. The big makes tend to steer clear of region-free, and I have spent enough on machines that did not respond to hacks.
Within an hour of unpacking the box I had set it up, got the freeview channels sorted and even using an indoor aerial I get a great picture. I've tried region 1, 2 & 4 discs and it plays them all, it plays computer produced movie discs and finalised discs from my DVD recorder and it even plays V-CD and S-VCD discs.
There's a pretty basic EPG (electronic programme guide) included as well and 1 SCART socket in case you wanted to hook up a recorder.
This covers everything I wanted, the manual is pretty small and does not include EPG details though you'll soon get round that using the colour buttons on your remote. I may want to replace it when I see how the industry goes in the next few years, if someone does a region-free TV/DVD combo with Freeview channels included, preferably with the DVD slot flat, but until then this is a pretty decent stop-gap.
