With the DMC-FS22’s 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD, you can operate the AF and shutter release at the same time with just a touch. While playing back, you can quickly select an image to view by scrolling images. The Beauty Retouch Mode makes it possible to virtually makeup the faces. Various effects can be applied to the face including clearing the skin texture, whitening of teeth and so on. You can also choose the colour of foundation, lips, cheeks or eye-shadow. With the new Image Stamp function, you can decorate photos with various stamp designs.

Powerful Zoom

The DMC-FS22 features a 4x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens from 28mm wide-angle (35mm camera equivalent: 28-112mm) and 16.1-megapixel high-resolution CCD. The 28mm wide-angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and scenes with dynamic width and rich perspective, even from short distance. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the Intelligent Zoom extends the zoom ratio from 4x to 5x equivalent, maintaining the picture quality even combining a digital zoom.

Image Stabilizer

The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. Apart from the digital image correction, the MEGA O.I.S. corrects a jolt of light axis by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to offset it. Thus the image is not affected digitally nor deteriorated at all. You get clear, sharp images. The MEGA O.I.S. lets you shoot in dimly lit rooms or evening illumination to preserve the mood, and works for macro shots and zoom shots, which are especially susceptible to hand-shake.

Intelligent Auto Mode

In iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, advanced detection functions work automatically and simultaneously to optimize your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful photos every time. iA Mode includes MEGA O.I.S. to detect hand-shake, Intelligent ISO Control to detect subject movement, Face Detection AF/AE to detect faces in the frame, AF Tracking to continually track a moving subject and keep it in focus with just a touch, Intelligent Scene Selector to detect scene conditions and Intelligent Exposure to detect the brightness level.

Video Recording and Sharing

The DMC-FS22 can record motion pictures in high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 24 fps in Motion JPEG format). The DMC-FS22 can also upload movies onto YouTube, and photos onto Facebook. All you have to do is checkmark photos and movies you want to share and connect the camera or SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card to a computer. Uploading automatically starts just by following the guidance. With operation this easy, you can instantly share your photos and movies with your family and friends all over the world.

Display Information

The 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD displays a range of information to help you before each shot. The shooting mode icon, flash mode, Mega O.I.S. mode and LCD mode, ISO sensitivity setting, remaining battery strength and more are shown on the display. When the shutter button is pressed halfway, the focusing condition, aperture and shutter speed are also displayed.
