Great netbook
This is an excellent netbook, in terms of features it has it all, though it comes with 1Gb RAM (I immediately upgraded mine to 2Gb), it runs the new Intel Atom 280 processor and comes with 160Gb HDD (inclusive 10Gb Eee Storage) - it is quite fast when working with apps (I have tested it with MS office 2007 & Adobe photoshop CS3 and they work seemlessly without slowing the PC down (note: both of these apps slows down my old laptop considering it also has 2gb RAM and dual-core processor).

I already have a 15.4 laptop which is a pain as a travel companion (in the last year or so I've had to travel more frequently than usual), hence the main reason I needed a netbook, so as a travel companion it excels in this department, battery life has been about 7.5hrs (when I've not used heavily - i.e when browsing & emailing only), Battery life drops to about 5.5 hrs (when I've used it intensively - typing, editing photos etc) but this is fine for me consdiering I only need it as a travel companion (My old laptop still does the dog work). It has a 10.6" display running 1024x600 (for me this is good enough) - but note it could be a pain if you intend to use it predominatly for office apps, keyboard is big enough & easy to use, It comes preloaded with XP (which I intend to keep considering the problems I constantly encounter with vista on my old laptop).

It does not get too hot when placed on the lap (the most it gets is lukewarm even after hours of use), there is no problem carrying it around because it is light, compact and very portable. The bluetooh has been great as I connect to the internet via it using my phone as a modem.

If I have to pick any negatives with the laptop, it would be with it gloss finish (it easily picks up finger prints/greases), but I guess this might not be a problem for others. Overall it is hard to criticise and it is exactly the bit of kit I have been longing for, For me it has definitly been a good investment and I would highly recommended it.

May seem like just any old in car charger but IT'S NOT !!
Ok so here goes, you have the mini lappie and the battery runs out, you do computer maintinance or some such other, even just like me your a passenger in a car on a long journeys. Now ok this isn't sliced bread time in new ideas...not saying that by any standards. But what i am saying is that if you want to run you little Ole Lappie on that journey or more importantly charge the little bleeder up ... this is what you need and i mean NEED !!! It's not expensive, it arrives fast and well packaged and it saves your Batteries big time. So with no built in CD/DVD the heat from the lappie it powers is minute..hance the mini lappie ( Good this in't it ) So ok what am i saying in a long-winded around-about way is this: If you travel by car or have access to a car charger you need this and there is not a better item out there more suitable, affordable and reliable that does the job. Simple as !!!
