For the majority of the Braun products the model name or number is placed well visible on the housing. For some of them the model name/number will only be present on the packaging and instruction manual and not on the product itself. Should this information ever get misplaced, a four digit type number, which is imprinted on all Braun products, can be used to determine the appropriate part(s) for your product.

The type or model number can usually be found in the following places on a Braun Shaver: On the back of the shaver, on the shaver housing under the cutterblock or under the long-hair trimmer.

Foil & Cutter
This came instantly from Amazon and the price was comparable with other sites. I blame Braun for keeping the price high for what it actually is.
Shaver was good once more, but I think I will try a different make when this one dies.
All in all, I think Braun have priced themselves out of the market regarding spares and consumables. Especially their 'shaver wash re-fills'.

Braun Foil and Cutter
Unfortunately, after bursting open the packaging I discovered that my shaver is a 5000 series which is different from the Series 5 I purchased, sad really because Braun parts are very expensive and I shall not be buying another shaver from Braun

Utterly useless
I have been a lifelong Braun user. However this purchase has changed all that. For one thing, I found it very irritating that I had to buy a replacement cutter at the same time as a foil, which was not the case a few years ago. Secondly, these latest Braun foils go blunt VERY quickly and actually need replacing every six months. Lastly and worst of all, the plastic structure supporting the foil is very weak and snapped after a couple of weeks, meaning I would have had to buy ANOTHER foil AND cutter. Solution - I have thrown the razor in the bin and started using my old one again. Avoid Braun series 5 razors and their over-priced parts
