A very pleasant, fast and smooth shave from Braun
I should start by saying that I've never owned what I would call an expensive electric shaver until now. I've always tended to use those inexpensive small portable travel shavers, which have been OK but need to be replaced yearly. I will compare this Braun Shaver against those.

So naturally it is a big step up in quality all round. Looks great, is comfortable to hold. It comes with a dock you can stand it in and the cable plugs into a bathroom plug socket. Two Pin. It needs to be charged for about 4 hours straight out of the box. Future recharges should only take an hour and there is a 5 minute quick charge option.
Now onto the shave. I can honestly say it was probably the most comfortable and fastest shave I've ever had. So smooth I couldn't feel any discomfort or burning at all, which you sometimes get with brand new shavers. I also used the clipper on my sideburns and that was equally a breeze to use. Being a wet and dry shaver you can use this in the shower, although I didn't, and you can also wash the head of the shaver under a running tap, or use the brush and do it the dry way. All in all I'm very happy with this shaver and hope it lasts a long time.

Good but expensive
Firstly I should highlight that I have always struggled with electric shavers which I find difficult to use, primarily because of the resulting irritation. Even so I thought it worth a try given the advances that seem to have been made with these.

Accoding to the write-up for this it has been designed to minimise skin irritation - my main problem. Unfortunately not enough as far as I am concerned. Whilst this was better than other shavers I have used, it still left my skin sore and red meaning that I frequently had to shave the night before to avoid going to work with a very noticably sore face. Even with limited stubble I still found this difficult although in fairness it does show a vast improvement on other shavers including other Brauns.

I also thought it was slightly noisier than some other shavers which didn't really affect me but other may find irritating, especially if shaving in the morning without waking other.

It did, however, come with a little cleaning kit which I thought was both a great idea and really useful. Especially as this is a wet and dry shaver which can leave it needing a bit of oil after wetting.

It also performed well in both wet and dry conditions although I still struggled with the aftermath of both. There is little to choose from the wet and dry in terms of performance and the charger is both easy to use a relatively quick compared to some other makes and models.

All-in-all this was a decent attempt at a wet & dry shaver but I feel that the price tag is somewhat excessive given that it still suffers from the age old problem of skin irritation after us.

The best of wet and dry shaving
I already have an electric shaver and I also like to wet shave using a blade if there is enough time in the morning whilst rushing to get to work. This Braun 340 wet and dry electric shaver came as a gift and I was curious to see how it would behave when used with shaving gel and water. Well, I'm happy to say!

The two way pivoting foils are a very good design and it makes it very easy to move the shaver around the chin and into 'problem' areas (under nose, corners of mouth etc..). It's also nice to know that a bit of water isn't going to break it.

Good chunky design and it's a Braun so will probably last for ages.
