several of hours of fun
I bought this as a light to carry game to play in a group on holiday. It was good fun and the right level for several adults & older teens. Some of the places or people might not be known to younger ones but didn't spoil the fun (as we let them choose something else theyt did know)I thought that it was good value for an afternoon of entertainment
Great game, appalling packaging.
The game itself, in this form, is essentially a travel version of the game. Great...except that the packaging is completely useless and highly wasteful. The product/game is made up of 4 things - some cards, a timer, a die, and a pencil. But its presented in what is more like an Easter egg packaging which is totally unnecessary (and not very durable or storable). The objects themselves would fit in a small/tiny box, not the over-sized plastic and card boxing it does come in.
The manufacturers, I assume, have packaged the game like this so that i) it looks nice and attractive on the shelf, ii) psychologically looks better value (big box equals more for ones money (doesn't matter if you're buying online!)). But in doing so they have forgotten about the user - i just want a travel pack to hold the game - a small box for example which would have taken up far less packaging AND space. I suspect the objects could fit in an area not much larger than a thick pack of cards. Instead you get given 4 pieces of card and a chunk of over-designed plastic. In this day and age I find that incredibly irritating and damaging. The pricing also suggests an element of Christmas stocking filler...but I've never seen a Christmas stocking wide enough to fit this box.
As you can probably tell, I'm so annoyed I've spent more time talking about the packaging than the game, which is good. But ill have to find a plastic zip-lock bag or something to carry the game around in if I actually want to travel with it.
To conclude - a game that should get an easy 4 if not 5 stars gets a 2 or 3. When will manufacturers stop giving us big boxes that look impressive in stores but a nightmare to store at home (or awkward to travel with).
mini articulate game
if you love the "big" game then this is just fun to have if you're travelling. Great price for something that can fit easily into a handbag or suitcase. If you don't have the "big" game then this would be a good starter for you to see if you'd want to buy the full size.
