Teach your toddler shapes and colours and improve coordination with Winnie-the-Pooh Pound For Sounds Birdhouse, an attractive and durable Fisher Price toy, made of both traditional wood and modern brightly coloured plastic.

The birdhouse is 18 cm by 16 cm with an easy-to-carry handle. The front is natural wood with green and blue plastic trimmings. At one side of the box is a plastic mould of a bird. On the other side is one of Disney's favourite characters, a 23 cm sturdily attached Tigger, guaranteed to delight any Pooh fan.

There are four protruding bolts on the front of the box--a green square, a purple circle, a yellow triangle and an orange hexagon. It is the job of the toddler to use the hammer to "pound" the bolts. Every time a bolt is successfully secured into a locked position, they are rewarded and surprised by silly sounds including Tigger exclaiming "Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun", a bouncing noise and the tweeting of birds. The bolts can be reset ready for attack by pressing Tigger's head.

A screwdriver that can be used on the circular and triangular bolts and a wrench that fits the remaining shapes complete the tool kit. All the tools are made of light plastic and have chunky handles, perfect for small hands. At the back of the birdhouse is a small open storage area for these accessories.

Aimed at toddlers from 18 months, the toy will improve dexterity and cognitive skills in the very young and will help them to understand cause and effect. It will also provide hours of imaginative play, making this simple but versatile toy a popular choice for toddlers. --Tracey Hogan
