Amazon.co.uk Review
Once a baby is a toddler and has mastered the fine art of walking, they'll want to practice it as often as possible. The Winnie-the-Pooh Singing Wagon from Fisher Price is a high-quality toy that will encourage toddlers to walk as well as offering fun and development with the bricks and other elements included.
The wagon is a good mix of the traditional and the modern: real wooden sides and blocks are reminiscent of toys mum and dad may have had as a child, while the tasteful turquoise and purple plastic elements make the toy durable and easy to clean. The 24 wooden blocks are decorated with letters of the alphabet, words and pictures in a variety of colours, and while the target age group will not yet be learning letters, early exposure will doubtless make formal learning easier when the time does arrive. The handle can be set at a variety of angles, making pulling and pushing easier, but this does mean that excessive force or leaning (for example, trying to get up holding onto the wagon) may result in little upsets.
The crowning glory of this Wagon is yet another modern twist: a plastic Winnie-the-Pooh in the Disney rather than traditional style that sits aboard the end of the wagon with plastic building bricks of his own (both are fixed to a plinth which detaches from the whole). Push Winnie down gently, and he will speak to you: "I wonder, can you find our friend, Piglet?" for example. Not only will children love this interaction but also as they develop they will be able to search among the bricks for the corresponding picture. Press down the building bricks and they will sing a portion of the "ABC song", lighting up in rhythm. It is worth noting that all talking is in an American accent and the ABC song ends in "Zee" rather than "Zed", but this is a very small point in an otherwise exemplary toy. Chunky and nicely packaged, this toy makes an impressive looking gift when wrapped and would delight any child of 18 months to three years old. --Lucie Naylor
