Manufacturer's Description
The Fisher-Price Precious Planets 2-in-1 Projection Mobile features animal friends from around the planet, which twirl and smile down at baby as music plays and a fascinating light show dances up above. The delicate canopy hangs overhead of baby with four plush characters attached to it (teal whale, white polar bear, green alligator and yellow lion). Each character represents an environment from around the world. A soft light pattern is projected from the base of the mobile onto the inside of the canopy. When baby grows, the armature can be removed to convert this versatile mobile into a music box, and the light pattern can project directly onto the ceiling.
The mobile plays 20 minutes of music, which includes classical lullabies (Bach, Beethoven and Mozart), nature sounds, ocean sounds, and heart beat/white noise womb sounds. The mobile attaches to the crib with the new, improved Fisher-Price mechanism, which fits more cribs than ever before. and comes with a remote control, so that you can operate it from the door to baby's room and restart the mobile without disturbing baby.

Eats batteries, but worth it!
This is not an inexpensive mobile, and you'd better budget for a stack of D cell batteries, as it eats them at quite a rate of knots - a new set perhaps every 2-3 weeks - thanks to the projection function. I'm contemplating getting rechargeables, though rechargeable D cell batteries cost a king's ransom too. It might be better if this mobile were supplied with a mains transformer - but I guess that might represent a safety hazard.
The good news is that the mobile calms baby very effectively, so very useful for the bedtime routine. The peace and quiet is worth it! The mobile is cute, seems well made, and the remote is very handy if you want to fire it up from a distance, thus not betraying your presence in the room. Recommended.
Lovely mobile!
We are using this mobile for our 1-week old son and he loves looking at the turning animals while being changed - which calms him as he hates it otherwise!
The music is soothing and helps him going to sleep.
The remote control is very useful - that we can just switch it off when he has dozed off and we do not want to hear it.
The projection feature is lovely but can only be appreciated at a later age.
Highly recommended.
Fantastic for baby
My daughter absolutely loves this mobile.
It has multiple settings so you can have just music, music and twirling animals or music, twirling animals and pictures projected onto the canopy.
Very easy to operate. Remote control is great. Very easy to attach to cot.
