disappointingly quiet!
bought this rocket for christmas for my 3 yr old son, he is very pleased with it, and especially likes the crane's moveability, the flashing lights, and the gantry with the astronauts. the alien fits over the astronaut's head, in place of a helmet, v amusing for outer space adventures and entertaining play.
however, the sounds only work intermittently, which, of course, we only discovered once we'd removed all the packaging and ripped into it on christmas morning, so no chance of returning it (try explaining to a 3 year old excited boy why santa needs his present back!)
also, within a day of play the blue hatch opening near the top of the rocket had a crack in it, very surprising as no rough play taken place
so all in all, my son loves it and we're keeping it, but expected more from fisher price
Fisher Price gets it right again
My son was given an Imaginext rocket, along with other items from the series, for Christmas. He's almost 4 years old and loves acting out stories and these are perfect for him to use. The rocket is the only one we've got which makes a noise, but it doesn't do it too often and can be switched off if it gets too much - which it hasn't yet for us. Construction seems to be very good: simple and easy for a young child to work him or herself but has plenty of working bits to keep the child entertained. Little touches like the astronauts transforming into aliens by adding the green head are simple but really effective. Would highly recommend this and others in the series. Only possible drawback to this particular item is the size, but I think the size is what makes it easy for a child to manipulate the pieces so, certainly for us, this isn't a problem.
