The good bits and the bad?
Bought this for my new 3G iPhone and mentioned it to a friend who has a first gen iPhone so got him one too. Both phones work with this no problems. So down to the review - Good points: You will be amazed at how good this is especially for the money! For the price it is worth it just to have something that will charge your phone in the car and hold your phone, but this does way more! The handsfree part is just that - If you are listening to music through your car speakers using the FM transmitter and a call comes in it will fade the music and let you answer handsfree just like a kit that would normally cost 5 times this amount! Build quality is pretty good and it does what it says on the pack. Bad points: not many! The little plastic holders that stop the phone sliding off the holder seem a bit fragile. The unit emits the odd beeping sound now and then when listening to music? Sound quality is average. The flexible neck works well in some cars and not so good in others - lucky dip I'm afraid! Overall worth a gamble at this price!

Don't bother - buy something better
I don't often make bad buying decisions but this definitely counts as one.

Despite what you might believe by reading the product name it's not made by TeckNet - it's an import which they can't even be bothered to repackage. It's called and Allkit, there's no information about who actually makes it (it's made in China, of course) so you don't know if it's CE stamp is real and the instructions are in appallingly translated English that is barely comprehensible.

The vendor doesn't bother to send you a dispatch notice to let you know it's on it's way, which is only slightly useful so you know when to have to be in to accept it from the post man.

The grips don't, the sliding supports to hold the bottom of the iPhone up let it just slide off and the only things holding your iPhone to the device are the connector at the bottom, which only supplies power, and the audio 3.5mm cable to connect the earphone socket to a socket on the side of the transmitter. Pathetic.

Cheap, yes, cheerful, no - with the P&P on top of the cost of this it's a waste of £17.48. I'll be buying a Griffin product now - at least they're built properly.

The good and the bad
I purchased this because I have been looking for a way to integrate my iPhone into my car without the dreaded "airplane mode" message coming up. In that regard, this product works perfectly.

First- the product itself is well designed and very sturdy. The neck of the "dock" is very study and although it is flexible, it does not move all that much. I drive an SUV and this neck stands up to the bumps and bounces that come with driving an SUV.

HOWEVER - the unit DOES NOT allow for rotation of the iPhone. I was really hoping that this unit would rotate 90 degrees so I could switch to coverflow when I was using the iPod portion of the iPhone. It DOES NOT. It only stays at a perfectly straight up-and-down (portrait style). You can still access all the iPhone functions - but, if you ever want to switch to coverflow, or if you want to watch a YouTube video while you're stopped or something, you're out of luck with this product.

As far as an FM transmitter, I have found that the unit works very well. It puts out a strong signal, and does a good job of broadcasting a good signal. I would say that the sound quality is the same as it would be if I was listening to an FM Stereo station. It didn't sound like "CD Quality" but for an FM Transmitter I thought it did a very nice job.
